Martin

Martin Jones is currently the Associate Director of Nursing for the Surrey and Borders Partnership Trust.  He has been a practicing nurse since 1985.  He has held a comprehensive portfolio of clinical, managerial and academic roles.

Mental health is important to Martin, as people with mental health problems are known to be one of the most discriminated groups in our society.  Martin is interested in mental health services with a choice factor, as he believes the offer of choice will address this injustice by empowering the people who use mental health services.

Martin is also a keen hill walker, enjoys swimming and cycling - cycling so much that he has cycled on two occasions for charity across the UK, from Lands End in Cornwall to John O’Groats in Scotland.  He is happily married with a daughter, Kente who is named after a Ghanaian cloth symbolising vibrancy, vivaciousness, wealth and royalty.
